What is Live Betting?
Live betting (also called in-play betting or in-game betting) means placing wagers on a sporting event after it has already started. Instead of locking in your bet before kickoff, you watch the game develop and bet as it plays out.
The odds update constantly during the match based on what's happening. If a team scores, takes a red card, or loses a key player to injury, the live odds shift within seconds to reflect the new situation. This means the price you see at minute 10 will be completely different from the price at minute 60.
The main appeal is that you can use what you're watching to inform your bets. Pre-match odds are set based on predictions. Live odds are set based on what's actually happening. If you notice a team dominating possession but the score is still 0-0, the live odds on that team might offer better value than they should.
Live betting covers most of the same markets as pre-match: match result, over/under, next goalscorer, handicaps, and more. Some markets are only available live, like "next team to score" or "result at half-time" once the first half is underway.
